We get to destroy the notion that someone is broken (stigma)and needs to be fixed and instead reference someone as being wounded (trauma)and needing healing. The heavey burden of healing gets to fall on those who love and care about those who are wounded not the wounded themselves as the wound itself is the reason they are struggling to heal themselves. People are wounded in relationship to people places and things and so they get to heal in relationship. It is up to leadership in the behavioral healthcare space to change the societal narrative of fault/blame to the one of power and influence and connection and empathy and compassion and sustainable SOLUTIONS born of great data merged with the anecdotal.
