This article deeply reflects the essence of trauma, addiction, and the imprint of childhood experiences on adulthood, but it also highlights the importance of *choice*—a principle that resonates deeply within the Family WELLTH framework.

When I work with families, I recognize that pain is often a legacy passed down through generations, but it doesn’t have to define the future. The Family WELLTH approach honors the truth Mitch expresses: we follow what feels like home, even when home hurts. Our work focuses on helping families break free from these patterns by building new pathways for connection, trust, and resilience.

Healing isn’t about erasing the past but becoming conscious of it, reclaiming agency, and creating a healthier framework for love—one that future generations can thrive within. It starts with awareness, but it grows with tools, choice, and a commitment to building emotional WELLTH together.

This article powerfully reminds us of why families matter in the healing process.
