In my two decades of working closely with families grappling with the complexities of substance use, the prevailing narrative around drugs and those who use them has often felt misaligned with the realities I’ve encountered. Through a lens shaped by compassion, understanding, and the desire for holistic well-being, I’ve come to see that our societal approach to drug policy requires a fundamental shift. Drawing upon the wisdom gleaned from my work and the insights of thinkers who have deeply influenced my perspective, I propose a more enlightened path forward.
